A sample response follows A favorite passage of mine is the one in which Buddy and his friend flummox pecans for their fruitcakes.Its set in the kitchen on a November morning afterwards the characters have gathered the nuts in the woods. To me the mood is one of decision joy in the midst of a col d, lonely place. Other people dont seem to be around, but the kitchen is warmed by the fire and filled with the characters joy and friendship.
